Delete your account
Last updated 11 October 2026
You can delete your Will You account and its data at any time. Deleting can't be undone. Questions? See our privacy policy or email [email protected].
In the app (fastest)
- Open Will You and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with your password, or by signing in with Google again if you use Google sign-in.
Your account is deleted straight away.
Without the app
Email [email protected] from the email address you use for Will You, with the subject "Delete my Will You account". We may ask you to confirm the request, to make sure it really comes from you. We'll delete your account within 30 days and email you when it's done.
What gets deleted
- Your account: email address, password hash and Google sign-in link
- Your profile: name, gender, date of birth, photo, bio and interests
- Your likes, friend requests, friendships and blocks
- Encrypted messages, photos and voice messages waiting on our server, sent to or from you
- Your notification tokens and your Will You Plus status
- On the phone where you delete it: your chat history, encryption keys and stickers
What we keep
- Safety reports. Reports you made, and reports others made about your account (including the name and email address on the account and the reason given), are kept so we can act on safety issues and prevent repeat abuse.
- Messages you've already sent stay on the other person's phone. We can't reach them, because chats are end-to-end encrypted and stored on people's own devices.
- Basic server logs containing your account ID, kept for security and removed in the normal course of running the service.
If you have Will You Plus
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play, under Subscriptions, so you aren't charged again. See the terms for details.
